My name is Ms. Brogan and I am fortunate enough to teach fabulous fourth graders at Belview Elementary School. This is a blog that I created in hopes of keeping loved ones in the loop with what we're learning and how much fun we're having!

Our Class Bulletin Board :)

Hello Friends!
In science we have been learning about plants and the special things they do to survive. We learned about the basic structures of the plant, which are the leaves, stem, flower, and roots. We also got to dissect flowers and see the reproductive parts of the plant up close, which are the stamen, pistil, ovary, and sepals. Last, but not least, we learned about the way plants make their own food. This is a process called photosynthesis and the students completed a three-week long experiment by growing their own plants to test some theories we had about sunlight and its effect on growth. The students did an amazing job with each and every activity we completed but they worked very hard on something special that I am excited to show you.
Our project over our three-week long plant unit was to create a class bulletin board together! Each student had a very special part to make and put on the board after we learned about it. After the three weeks, the entire bulletin board had been covered and extra things had been added. We talked about the relationship between all of the things we learned and why it was important to see everything in a big picture. Below are some photos of what is displayed in our classroom!

As you can see, we have some very talented fourth graders! They did such an amazing job with this project and it really shows what we know as a whole. This helped us build something as a team and recognize that each person has a part to play and something to contribute. They went above and beyond with their teamwork and collaboration. I hope you enjoyed taking a look inside our science adventures!

Sincerely and with best wishes,
Ms. Brogan & The Fabulous Fourth Graders
